My path to leading the WBP group was not smoothly paved. Before entering the real estate world, I had little idea about what I wanted to do for a living after finishing school. With a keen interest in business and economics, I embarked on a career in property valuation when I was 19. After a short stint at a Melbourne retail property agency called Burgess Rawson, I then moved into my first job as a property valuer with Westpac Property Department. This is where I rode the greatest property boom of our times to its peak in 1989. Then in the following year, once the euphoria dissipated, the recession claimed my job
Since then, I’ve gone on to start WBP group, an independent property advisory and valuations firm. It was my father’s passing that pushed me to work for myself. Having a strong team around me, passion for what I do and a clear vision are what have ultimately led me to my current position. Though, to be honest, I didn’t know these things all along. It took plenty of trial and error to teach me these strong lessons. Get a deeper look at my personal story over at Oscar Hunt Tailors.
